Vanilla beans bring the sex-ay, y'all. You wouldn't think it, to look at one, but they do. On the other hand, given their phallic shape*, maybe you would think it.

*Um...it's sorta phallic shaped. Kinda.

Well, anyway...

Y U SO SEX-AY?
Remember the fella who did a study and determined that the scent of licorice increases the flow of blood to chicks' genitals? Apparently, the scent of vanilla does the same for "mature men," by which I believe is meant older men, as I've yet to meet a mature one. (I kid, I kid.)

(Oh, c'mon, it was a joke; back off, already. Sheesh.)

(Besides which, I'm the least mature of any creature living.)

(Fact.)

  1. Hey now some of us are okay :P. I love vanilla so hmm, maybe it works.

  2. Vanilla could definitely work. It is one of my fave smells and did you know that vanilla brokers only pay in cash? That the crops are so valuable they have armed guards surrounding the harvest? It's fascinating how they acquire vanilla.

  4. "mature men," by which I believe is meant older men, as I've yet to meet a mature one. HAHAHA!

So if I cover myself with vanilla essence I may be able to land myself a sugar Daddy?

    1. Well, it hasn't worked for me, yet, but your mileage may vary. :-)

  5. LOVE this!!
I did not know you were part of this A to Z--and totally love your idea by the way for the aphrodisiacs. )I have to figure out how to get notifications when you have new posts...
And vanilla is my favorite. I wear a vanilla based perfume from a little roll on bottle from Sephora from Lavinila Labs with some coconut undertones too--I could eat it!! Maybe that is why it is so sexy--it sounds like...ferget it--not going there.
    Love your blog.

  6. Love the smell of vanilla. It's too bad that the extract doesn't taste as good as it smells when sampled from the bottle.

  7. New experiment on the horizon. I've always loved vanilla, hmmm maybe that's why.

    Don't apologize, it's the truth! :)

  9. Hey! I rememble that remark about older men rather than mature men. :-) I've known many for whom vanilla stimilates the libido.

  10. How much older are we talking about? My boyfriend LOVES the scent of vanilla. He always has. I have to try out that recipe for vanilla bean cheesecake.

  11. LOL Another clever post. I love vanilla while cooking (I'm eager to try that bread!), but I don't like it in scents. Vanilla candles, colognes, etc. smell phony and artificial to me. I'm more inclined to daub on some stuff from my pantry! I think vanilla beans are very phallic-y. Even to the little hook!

  12. I've always loved the scent of vanilla - so much in fact that when I was about 5, I dumped an entire bottle of extract on my favorite stuffed animal to make him smell good. My mother had a cow that day!

I've searched the land to find a good, "real" smelling vanilla lotion - so far, Jaqua Buttercream frosting is the only one that comes close, without being too cloying. I don't care if it attracts men...I just love it for myself!

    1. Hadn't heard of that one. I'm currently using Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works. I think it's got a lovely, sensual "feel" to it.

    2. Since you spoke so well of the Jaqua Buttercream I ordered a bottle of the body lotion. A little pricier than B&BW, but worth trying! (Worst case scenario, I can always mail it to you, if I don't dig it.) :-)

  13. Vanilla doesn't do much for me really...never did. Once in a while I will come across a french vanilla candle or something that smells good to me. Good to know that the fellas like it though. ;)

  14. I love vanilla!! I have a vanilla scented perfume that's my favorite. Turns out, I'm just an old perverted am, I guess. ;0)

    Hugs!

  15. My favourite flavour and scent (in the unsweetened way), who knew it was so beneficial for the male gender? Love your theme and thanks for stopping by my blog.

  16. I love your A to Z! Reading this on my tablet and thought the vanilla beans were long fingernails at first. Whew! Glad the're not! I think I heard Martha Stewart talk about putting vanilla beans in sugar to flavor it. Yum :-)
