That Fatal Kiss

Adult Mythical Romance Novel
Available for purchase at Amazon

The Book:
Feared by mortals for his inexorable power, and loathed by his fellow Greek gods for the same, Hades rules the Underworld alone.  A stark eternity looms before him until he discovers Persephone. Struck by the youthful goddess’ beauty, kindness, and spirit, he must have her. But Hades believes Persephone could never love him, and so he conspires with his powerful brother, Zeus, to take her by force.

Persephone too seeks a mate but her possessive mother, the goddess Demeter, frustrates her husband hunting. Then Hades abducts Persephone, tearing her away from the Upperworld she loves to reign with him in the dank depths below. Though outraged, Persephone cannot deny the desire ignited within her by the dark lord’s touch. And even as she hopes that Demeter
will unearth her, Persephone aches to surrender to the heat in Hades’ immortal soul.

“Enough,” Hades said, closing the distance between them. “I have taken you with your father’s consent, as custom allows. You are in my kingdom, under my rule, and if you have any care for your continued well-being, you will get into my bed. Now.” And with the removal of the pins that held together the black cloth about his waist, he stood naked before her.

The anger warming Persephone clashed with another fire that roared to life within her. She choked on a breath and turned her face from him. “Be warned; I will resist you with the full force of my being, through violent means, if necessary.”

His large, unyielding hands encircled the soft flesh of her upper arms as he said, “If you must. Though your surrender to me would prove more satisfying to us both.”

The (Not So Dark) Romance of the King & Queen of the Underworld
An interview with Hades & Persephone, hosted by Allyson Lindt here.

  1. First visit to your blog and I'm dying to read more of "That Fatal Kiss" - you would love my greek mythology serials - one in particular, "Kore" is a 5-part short fiction on Persephone (Kore) and Hades (Aides) - though, admittedly, not as steamy:)

  2. Thanks for checking it out and your kind words, they're much appreciated! I hope to take a look at your serials soon. :-)

  3. I'm reading your book right now and loving it!!

  4. I have no idea if you'll eventually read this or not, but I have to say, I am totally in love with your book. I've neared the ending chapters, and am so saddened by it. I feel like i'm loosing a friend. That Fatal Kiss is absolutely in my top three favourite books. Actually, scrap that, it's my favourite book. Hands down. I've always been interested in Greek Mythology and the story of Hades, and your book could not have given me a better insight to the mysterious world of the Lord of the Underworld. It's crazy how your book has stuck with me through night and day. I feel like i'm plagued with a dark cloud when i'm not reading it. It sucks to say goodbye.
Im also extremely disheartened that you haven't yet written anymore novels, and would (VERY STRONGLY) love to know if you are planning to.
Thank you so much for this wonderful piece of art.

    1. Katie, you're my hero today. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for your kind and lovely words.

Yes, I have several works in varying stages of progress, all with either supernatural creatures or themes. No immediate plans for another novel set in the world of TFK, though (although Hecate does keep snarking at me to give her a proper love story...).

Above I'd linked to an "interview" I did with P & H but didn't realize the link was broken. I've corrected it and provide it here as well. Maybe save it for when you've finished the book? :-)

    2. I'm totally star struck that you've replied, this is amazing!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me!! :) I'm so so glad to hear you're still writing, and will keep a watchful eye out for your upcoming stories (I CANT WAIT)!
I was totally drawn to Hecate, so my stomach is bubbling with excitement knowing you may write a story about her!!
I will most definitely check out the link after i'v finished the book - which I fear, sadly, will be today.
Thank you so much for replying, and just in general, for this book. I will forever be indebted to your magical mind!

    3. Katie, I've been thinking about your connection with TFK and reminiscing about times I dreaded finishing a book even though I couldn't wait to know how everything turned out. Here are three such books, all with supernatural elements, which are among my most beloved. They're not romance novels per se, though of the three, Discovery of Witches does get sexy. But they're all love stories (even Sunshine, which is the least romance-novelly of them all). If you haven't already read them you may wish to give them a look - they're richly detailed and oh so dreamy! :-)

      Sunshine by Robin McKinley
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

    4. Thank you so so so much! These books sound amazing, I'm so thankful you've recommended them to me!
I struggle finding good supernatural books (with hints of romance, of course), because I am very picky with what I like. I actually have The Night Circus on my book shelf, so I will definitely dive into that one first.
I have finished TFK, and cried for my loss, but thought the ending was just fabulous, heartwarming and funny. I'm in awe to you.
These recommendations will most definitely help fill my days whilst waiting for your next published novel, so thank you so much once again!

(P.S, I know I sound crazy, but somehow I believe that when a person shares their most beloved books, they share a piece of their soul also, so I can't tell you how much this means to me. Thank you.)

C'mon, post a comment. All the cool kids do.
